Storms from the atlantic are starting to pile in.

another one is due in 24 hrs later

we are then on the hot and cold for another week, before the mid to end of Jan looks like producing something special as the atlantic is switched off together with increasing pressure over Greenland.

Oh my, doesn't that look like fun? Skye may well be blown off the map at this rate!

If it could hold off until after the 25th, I'd be grateful

Hi Jon
The GFS has been picking up hints of colder weather for the last week. First wave of snow shwoers on Saturday through the weekend to monday. A milder spell will follow on.

after that the weather looks like it will cool down significantly.

Cross Model Agreement now for " the coldest spell of weather for 2 years ".
We have had some snow up North .....but this time it looks like a countrywide event. Once we get this stormy Wed night / Thur out of the way we will see it get increasingly colder and become increasingly wintry for all from Sat onwards.
regards
JS

Lets hope so.

Not seen a single flake thus far this winter and nothing last winter either.

This one looks nailed on to me Trevor ..........the only question ( IMO ) is whether the extreme South of England can join in with the fun.
( the SW could miss out but i reckon you will see some snow in Surrey )
